When you are new to internet marketing you can make quite a few mistakes. I have made most if not all of them. If you know what NOT to do you can save yourself an immense amount of time as you build your business.
Top Ten Mistakes:
* Failure to have a goal. - You have to be specific in your goals and take baby steps. Goals need to be specific and measurable.
* Evaluating your current skills - Before you start you need to evaluate what skills you have and which you don’t so that you can build upon them.
* Lack of a foundation. - Building your business requires a business foundation with the appropriate business tools and systems you will need before you need them.
* Failure to research. - Its easy to just jump into something without doing any real research. Its vital you research in the specific area you want to do business so you know what is involved.
* Jumping from one thing to another. - Often newbies in the industry will try something new for a month or two then give up and move on to something new. Consistency in education and action over a longer period of time is required.
* Always learning, never doing. - There is a difference between education and action. We could all be professional students but if you never “do” any of the things your are learning about you will go nowhere fast.
* Focus. - What do you know? When you teach, present or provide resources for what you already know and incorporate it into your online business your passion shines through and its much easier.
* I have 457 e-books that I can resell. - No really, I do. As you do your research you are offered hundreds of free e-books all with the next best thing. Don’t do this! Stay the course, if your passion is about a topic then you should have books on that topic.
* Offers, Offers, Offers. - Info products are great. I have a ton of them, and I have paid 30.00 here 47.00 there and on and on. If you don’t have the time to implement what you are buying RIGHT NOW, don’t buy it.
* Not trusting your ability. - No matter how old you are, you have the ability to take your life experience and put it out there for others. Every day thousands of people give up on themselves before they start.
If you have a plan as you build your internet business, building on what you know, learning what you don’t and implementing those things as you progress you will have success online. There are literally thousands of get rich quick offers on the net. Maintain your focus. Do you want to be an infopreneur, a trainer, an affiliate marketer, or a philanthropist? Do you want to be loved and admired as well as making money one the web, or do you have a cause you want to promote.
These are all honorable and doable things if you avoid the mistakes most newbies make.
